The Norway Grants or the Norwegian Financial Mechanism represent the contribution of the Kingdom of Norway to the reduction of the economic and social disparities in the European Economic Area and to the strengthening of the bilateral relations with the beneficiary states.  This financing mechanism was established on the basis of the Agreement on the European Economic Area, which brings together the EU Member States and Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway as equal partners on the internal market.

For the period 2014-2021, the Norwegian Grants, amounting to EUR 1.3 billion, are exclusively funded by Norway and are available in the 13 countries that acceded to the European Union after 2003.

The funds are distributed according to the financing programs, framed in the specific priority sectors and the areas, objectives and expected results are established together with each beneficiary state.
