May 19, 2021, Status of training courses in the field of communication organized for prosecutors and judicial police officers within DNA

During the months of March – April 2021, within Activity 3.1. of the project “Fighting crime and corruption”, funded by the Kingdom of Norway through the Norwegian Grants, the National Anticorruption Directorate organized five training courses in the field of communication (Process Communication Model). The courses took place online on the following dates: 3 – 5 March 2021, 17 – 19 March 2021, 31 March – 2 April 2021, 7 – 9 April 2021 and 21 – 23 April 2021. Each workshop was attended by 15 prosecutors and judicial police officers from the National Anticorruption Directorate.

The activity 3.1 aims to organize workshops in the field of communication and teamwork, aiming at developing specific skills (communication, teamwork, conflict management), which will result in streamlining the activities of participants, in the context of the complexity of the causes investigated by DNA. Process Communication Model is a theory of communication that, put into practice, offers solutions for stress management, conflict management, staff motivation and effective communication.

The total number of people who will benefit from this form of training is 150.

Background information:

The financing contract of “Fighting criminality and corruption” project was signed on 27.11.2018, being the first financing contract signed within the “Justice” Program of the current Norwegian Financial Mechanism. The project budget is 4,250,000 euros, and the implementation period is 36 months. The project is being carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice in partnership with the National Anticorruption Directorate (D.N.A.) and the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (D.I.I.C.O.T.).

The general objective of the project is enhancing the capacity of the Public Ministry in fighting crime and corruption, contributing, in this regard, to the consolidation of the rule of law and the judiciary, as a whole. The project has two components: one for the professional training of the prosecutors, judicial police officers and specialists, and the other one regarding the acquisition of equipment for the prosecutor’s offices, equipment that will assist in the efficient conduct of criminal investigation activity.
